Review: A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas

A Court of Frost and StarlightSynopsis:

Narrated by Feyre and Rhysand, this story bridges the events in A Court of Wings and Ruin and the upcoming novels in the series.

Feyre, Rhys and their companions are still busy rebuilding the Night Court and the vastly changed world beyond. But Winter Solstice is finally near, and with it a hard-earned reprieve. Yet even the festive atmosphere can’t keep the shadows of the past from looming. As Feyre navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady, she finds that those dearest to her have more wounds than she anticipated – scars that will have a far-reaching impact on the future of their court.

Favorite Lines:

“I think my heart knew you were mine long before I ever realized it.”

“Stars flickered around us, sweet darkness sweeping in. As if we were the only souls in a galaxy.”

My Opinion:

I was beyond excited to read this book because it is my favorite series. I reread all of the series in preparation for this book to come out. I have to say that I was slightly disappointed with this book. Not because it wasn’t great, but because I wanted more. This book is just a halfway point between A Court of Wings and Ruin and the spin-off novels to come.

What I liked about this book is that it shows different points of view from all of our favorite characters (especially Rhys’s PoV) and how everyone is adjusting to life after the war is over. I was very happy to get more of Feyre and Rhys because they are the OTP of all OTPs. The book also set up so many more opportunities for the future involving different characters and couples throughout the series. I am excited to see where Maas takes it and can’t wait for the next book to come out.

This book hints at what characters we might see in the new spin-off books for the series. I think I am most looking forward to Nesta and Cassian but I think I would be happy to see any addition to this world Maas has created!

Summary:

Overall, as I said above, this book provided us with more of Rhys and Ferye. If you’re anything like me, you’ll take what you can get. Now it’s time to reread the series like a million more times while we wait for the next book in the series to come out.
