Review: Your Inescapable Love by Layla Hagen

Your Inescapable Love by Layla HagenSynopsis:

Max Bennett is a successful man. His analytical mind has taken his family’s company to the next level. Outside the office, Max transforms from the serious business man into someone who is carefree and fun. Max is happy with his life and doesn’t intend to change it, even though his mother keeps asking for more grandchildren. Max loves being an uncle, and plans to spoil his nieces rotten.

But when a chance encounter reunites him with Emilia, his childhood best friend, he starts questioning everything. The girl he last saw years ago has grown into a sensual woman with a smile he can’t get out of his mind.

Emilia Campbell has a lot on her plate, taking care of her sick grandmother. Still, she faces everything with a positive attitude. When the childhood friend she hero-worshipped steps into her physical therapy clinic, she is over the moon. Max is every bit the troublemaker she remembers, only now he has a body to drool over and a smile to melt her panties. Not that she intends to do the former, or let the latter happen.

They are both determined not to cross the boundaries of friendship…at first. But as they spend more time together, they form an undeniable bond and their flirty banter spirals out of control.

Max knows Emilia is off-limits, but that only makes her all the more tempting. Besides, Max was never one to back away from a challenge.

When their chemistry becomes too much to resist and they inevitably give in to temptation, will they risk losing their friendship or will Max and Emilia find true love?

Favorite Lines:

“You know what they’re saying about plenty of fish being in the sea…Yeah, and I’m living in the desert.”

“Better to go after who you want than carry a torch forever, wondering if it would work out.”

“It’s different now, Max. We’re dating. You’re supposed to think I fart rainbows and never have morning breath.”

“I’ve never understood the concept of someone glowing until now. I must be losing my mind. Maybe that’s why they say madly in love.”

My Opinion:

This book was beyond adorable. It’s totally a NSFW but still adorable as can be. The story follows Max and Emilia, childhood friends who lost contact with one another and who get reunited with one another in a chance encounter. While they both initially agree they just want to be friends and pick up where they left off, we all know that isn’t going to happen.

As the story progresses we get to see both Max and Emilia go from reconnecting as friends to recognizing that they have feelings for each other and all the emotions and drama that go along with it. I really like that each story that Hagen is writing for this series has different aspects and every character is so dynamically different. I also think it’s really interesting how Hagen keeps giving us more and more insights and backstories into the Bennett family as we continue the journey throughout the series.

I don’t think there was anything that I didn’t like about this book. It’s a great, quick read full of romance and cute little moments. There is a part in there that made my heart hurt (not telling you which part) but don’t worry, Hagen made it all better by the end of the book. Your Inescapable Love continues to really tie The Bennet Family series together and I can’t wait to see what Hagen has in store for us in the books to come.

Summary:

Overall, I have nothing negative to say about this book, it’s exactly what I expected it to be and wasn’t disappointed. Romance books like The Bennett Family series are my late night guilty pleasure when I want to get lost in a story and stay up until the wee hours of the morning reading them. If you enjoy the same thing then this is the book series for you. Until next time, happy reading!

Your Inescapable Love

Review: Your Forever Love by Layla Hagen

Your Forever Love by Layla HagenSynopsis:

Eric Callahan is a powerful man, and his sharp business sense has earned him the nickname ‘the shark.’ Yet under the strict façade is a man who loves his daughter and would do anything for her. When he and his daughter move to San Francisco for three months, he has one thing in mind: expanding his business on the West Coast. As a widower, Eric is not looking for love. He focuses on his company, and his daughter.

Until he meets Pippa Bennett. She captivates him from the moment he sets eyes on her, and what starts as unintentional flirting soon spirals into something neither of them can control.

Pippa Bennett knows she should stay away from Eric Callahan. After going through a rough divorce, she doesn’t trust men anymore. But something about Eric just draws her in. He has a body made for sin and a sense of humor that matches hers. Not to mention that seeing how adorable he is with his daughter melts Pippa’s walls one by one.

The chemistry between them is undeniable, but the connection that grows deeper every day that has both of them wondering if love might be within their reach.

When it’s time for Eric and his daughter to head back home, will he give up on the woman who has captured his heart, or will he do everything in his power to remain by her side?

Favorite Lines:

“…but she’s gotten under my skin, and I like how it feels.”

“Then stop looking for excuses and start finding solutions.”

My Opinion:

It seems that the series is going in order as far as family members go; after all there are a lot of them to get through. Your Forever Love follows Pippa Bennett and Eric Callahan. This is the first in the series to follow a female Bennett, so it was interesting to see inside the Bennett family from a female perspective.

I remember saying in my past reviews for this series that I wish there was more drama, more heartache for characters, and this book delivered. It still wasn’t the worst scenario that I have ever read this normally the characters have a minor hiccup and then get back together. In this book, Hagen gives us the feels train. I know for me, my heart was literally hurting reading certain parts of the story; which, as bad as it sounds, is always a good thing. I think this is the first book in the series to actually make my heart hurt and, in my mind, that means it was the best so far.

I love that Pippa has an addiction to sugar and sweets and I love that Eric takes the time to really figure her out. Pippa is always used to being the listener in her family, always analyzing and reading her siblings but Eric comes into her life and gives her a taste of her own medicine. I think it’s really sweet that he figured out what she wanted and tried his best to give it to her. It makes us all want a relationship like Eric and Pippa.

Summary:

Throughout the series, we get to see more and more of the Bennett siblings and are constantly introduced to new characters. This makes us, as readers, wonder who is going to star in the next book in the series and I can’t wait to see how Hagen continues to tie everyone together. I loved this book and can’t wait to see what’s in store in the next one!

Your Forever Love

Review: Your Captivating Love by Layla Hagen

Your Captivating Love by Layla HagenSynopsis:

Logan Bennett knows his priorities. He is loyal to his family and his company. He has no time for love, and no desire for it. Not after a disastrous engagement left him brokenhearted. When Nadine enters his life, she turns everything upside down.

She’s sexy, funny, and utterly captivating. She’s also more stubborn than anyone he’s met…including himself.

Nadine Hawthorne is finally pursuing her dream: opening her own clothing shop. After working so hard to get here, she needs to concentrate on her new business, and can’t afford distractions. Not even if they come in the form of Logan Bennett.

He’s handsome, charming, and doesn’t take no for an answer. After bitter disappointments, Nadine doesn’t believe in love. But being around Logan is addicting. It doesn’t help that Logan’s family is scheming to bring them together at every turn.

Their attraction is sizzling, their connection undeniable. Slowly, Logan wins her over. What starts out as a fling, soon spirals into much more than they are prepared for.

When a mistake threatens to tear them apart, will they have the strength to hold on to each other?

Favorite Lines:

“Do you have any idea how many thoughts a woman can have in one night? Women are masters at overthinking words, overblowing situations.”

My Opinion:

Your Captivating Love is book two in The Bennett Family series and it was just as addicting as the first book was. It is a NSFW story, please protect your eyes. This story follows Logan, the second oldest sibling in the family, and Nadine, Ava’s friend, as they navigate their lives and find themselves falling for each other.

Again, this book was easy for me to get lost in and I read it in one sitting (what else is new?). Like the last book in the series, it is definitely a cliché romance book so steer clear of it if you don’t like the stereotypical love story. This series is turning out to be really easy to enjoy and once I start a book in it, I can’t seem to put it down.

We are starting to see the matchmaking aspect of the series and character’s from previous books and future books are being interwoven throughout the storyline, which is something that I love and definitely look forward to seeing more of in future books as the series progresses.

Summary:

Overall, this story was so cute (but also sexy as hell) and I couldn’t get enough. Good thing there are 9 books (so far) in the series, plenty more for me to get my fill of cliché romance with. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy a quick, but worthwhile read. Happy reading!

Your Captivating Love

Review: Your Irresistible Love by Layla Hagen

Your Irresistible Love by Layla HagenSynopsis:

Sebastian Bennett is a determined man. It’s the secret behind the business empire he built from scratch. Under his rule, Bennett Enterprises dominates the jewelry industry. Despite being ruthless in his work, family comes first for him, and he’d do anything for his parents and eight siblings—even if they drive him crazy sometimes. . . like when they keep nagging him to get married already.

Sebastian doesn’t believe in love, until he brings in external marketing consultant Ava to oversee the next collection launch. She’s beautiful, funny, and just as stubborn as he is. Not only is he obsessed with her delicious curves, but he also finds himself willing to do anything to make her smile.

He’s determined to have Ava, even if she’s completely off limits.

Ava Lindt has one job to do at Bennett Enterprises: make the next collection launch unforgettable. Daydreaming about the hot CEO is definitely not on her to-do list. Neither is doing said CEO. The consultancy she works for has a strict policy—no fraternizing with clients. She won’t risk her job. Besides, Ava knows better than to trust men with her heart.

But their sizzling chemistry spirals into a deep connection that takes both of them by surprise. Sebastian blows through her defenses one sweet kiss and sinful touch at a time. When Ava’s time as a consultant in his company comes to an end, will Sebastian fight for the woman he loves or will he end up losing her?

Favorite Lines:

“There is a bit of fire in everything and everyone.”

“This man sneaks pheromones in his cologne, I swear.”

“If you aren’t next to him, he searches for you. I’ve watched him. He’s not even aware. He simply needs you.”

My Opinion:

Honestly. I just wanted a book I could get lost in and not have to think really hard about and this book was perfect. I was craving a sweet romance story and wasn’t disappointed. Warning: this book is NSFW or not safe for work (for the kids in the back).

It tells the story of a CEO who runs his family’s company. Of course, he isn’t your stereotypical CEO, he’s nice and caring, not cold or rigged. But his life is missing a certain something…love (obviously). Then he meets Ava, and falls head over heels.

What I liked about this book was that it was an easy read but still had a good storyline. Of course it’s a cliché book, but sometimes that’s not always a bad thing. If you despise stereotypical love stories this definitely isn’t the book for you. But I just wanted to get lost in the pages and ended up staying up half the night to read this in one sitting.

The only thing I didn’t like about this story is that I wish it had more problems throughout it. I know you’re thinking “You cynical person, why does there need to be more problems?” and I will tell you why. Because I feel like when characters have to overcome more obstacles it brings them closer together. I’m a sucker for painful emotional moments because they are so raw and so much more real. I just wish this book had that element.

Summary:

Overall, this was the perfect, easy read love story. Characters were charming, the romance was both sweet and spicy, and it was well written and easy to follow. I definitely recommend Your Irresistible Love as a quick but lovely read.
